Q: How do I find and request LSC materials?
A:
Bibliographical Materials (Books)
To find and request bibliographical materials, please use UC Library Search.
Items held by LSC will display a "Special Collections Request" button that will direct the user to log into their LSC User Account and place a request for that item.
For detailed instructions, please see How do I request bibliographical materials from the Library Catalog (UC Library Search)?
Archival Collections and Collections of Boxed Monographs
For archival collections and collections of boxed monographs, please use our finding aids on the Online Archive of California (OAC).
Finding aids for collections held by LSC contain a "request items" button that will direct the user to log into their LSC User Account and place a request for materials.
For detailed instructions, please see How do I request materials from the Online Archive of California (OAC)?
PLEASE NOTE
The majority of LSC's holdings are stored off-site at the Southern Regional Library Facility (SRLF) or at the Biomedical Library and researchers must request materials at least 2 business days in advance using their LSC User Account. Additional time is needed for collections that contain audiovisual or archival materials.
Scheduling delivery of LSC materials is not an appointment and we cannot guarantee seating in the Reading Room.
Our curators and staff have also created subject-specific guides to assist you. Please see our LSC Research Guides.
