Q: What is an LSC User Account and how do I get one?

Library Special Collections uses a registration and request system called Aeon.

An LSC User Account in Aeon allows you to:

  • Submit requests automatically from the online catalog, UC Library Search.
  • Submit requests automatically from finding aids on the Online Archive of California (OAC).
  • Submit requests in advance of your visit or while at the library.
  • Submit requests for duplication (high-resolution scanning services and AV digitization) of special collections materials.
  • Track the status of each request.
  • Access detailed information about past requests.

Please Note:

  • Before you create an LSC User Account, you must read and agree to adhere by our policies for access and use of LSC materials. For general questions, please visit our FAQ home page.
  • Your LSC User Account is separate from your UCLA Library Account. It is also separate from Aeon accounts you may have created at other institutions.
  • If you are not ready to submit requests, you can still create an LSC User Account. This will enable you to make requests whenever you discover LSC materials in the Library catalog (UC Library Search).
